We have been working on our Technical Articles that we have with in the site and the forums. Currently we have close to 70 articles that have been collected over the 8 bazillion years.

Lemorris had the great idea to give all the articles the same look and feel. He also wanted the text only articles to have either an image or a video included in it. Our project finish date is November 2050, but we might be able to wrap it up prior.

To make it easy for our customers to find the articles, we have them in four locations, so after one is completed it is being reformatted in each location. When we are done burning the mid night oil re-doing these, we will update everyone.

Two and a half years ago when we upgraded the software behind Chirco.com, we decided to also add in forum software to create a place where our customers could ask questions about our parts. We knew that we had a bunch of customers that viewed the site during hours we were closed, so they were unable to call us to have their questions answered. After about three months, our forums started to take off and more and more customers were signing up and creating posts. The biggest success, was when other member starting answering other members questions.

Now the forums have have almost 4000 topics from over 1700 members that have video’s and how-to articles. This has become a knowledge based source for information on air cooled VW’s and Dune Buggies. We have even created topic boards to support our two new sites with www.seatsus and www.carbkitus.com.

I’m sure this safe community will continue to grow.

When we first started using Facebook, we thought it would be a good sideline way to assist in the promotion of our company and the Chirco.com estore. To get a business page you have to have a personal page first, so OK I’ll sign up and see how it goes. Then it’s off to uploading photo’s and getting the information correct, web site, phone numbers, task, task,,,. Then, Ding I have a friend and then another. Know I’m starting to see what others are doing and share what I’m doing. What stared of as a business task has turned into an enjoyable part of my day, shot I even get updates on my Blackberry now. Sean and Lemorris put together a fun video of some of the benefits of becoming a member of the Chirco.com web site. The item that I feel most of our customers miss, is the wish list option. I have been to thousands of site to browse around and window shop. Then when it comes time to make a purchase, I have to re-track down all the items I have already found before. Our wish list allows you to just keep plugging items you might need in the future but not right now. Then if you ever do need them, toss those puppies in your cart. We have customers use it to build quotes to see if they have the funds available to complete a certain project. Anyways, it’s there if you ever need it

Pima Volkswagen was owned by Jay Chamberlain since the ’60s
in downtown Tucson and then the dealership moved to a new location on Grant Road. Jim has since passed away and Joe Chirco had visited with his children about a vehicle that he owned since it was new. The vehicle was a 1971 Double cab in beautiful condition that had been parked in the barn for well over 10 years.
